Dr. Kitani is an an expert in computer vision and specializes in the area of human activity understanding from video. He is a System Scientist in the Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon University. From 2008 – 2011, he worked as an assistant professor at the University of Electro-Communications (UEC) Tokyo where he focused on the application of computer vision to interactive systems. In 2005 and 2008, he was awarded a MS and PhD in Information Science and Technology from the University of Tokyo.
